Question: Should I do anything different or special to my hair with summer approaching?
Answer:
Many clients have colour or highlight services that need protection from the negative effects of the hot summer sun. Color can quickly fade and highlights easily become dry with sun exposure. UVA and UVB rays can damage the hair from the cuticle to the inner structure of the hair. You can protect your hair with the right hair care product. I recommend our Color Conserve Shampoo, enriched with Shea Butter for extra conditioning. It contains no SLS and is infused with Meadowfoam Seed, a natural sunscreen. It's also good to give your hair treatments to build strength and elasticity.
Another common problem for hair in the summer is chlorine from swimming pools and environmental pollutants. For this I recommend our clarifying shampoo which will remove chlorine, pollutants and product build-up on the hair. For the best results leave the shampoo on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing, giving it more time to work.. Hair will feel very soft and shiny after a clarifying shampoo and it's great for children's hair after the pool! I don't recommend using a clarifying shampoo on coloured hair.
